AFETES
Afetes village is situated at a distance of about 25 km from Volos. The old name of the village was Niaou. The village is built on the slopes of a mountain among olive groves above Afissos and has an extensive view of the Pagasitic gulf.
The cool and refreshing square with plane trees, the church of St. John the Baptist which was built by the builder Dimos Zapaniotis from Epirus and the three stone arch bridges in the area are of great interest among visitors.
Entering the village and after the parking lot you can find a pathway offering a great walk down the mountain towards the beach of Abouvos in Afissos.
There are a couple taverns offering local recipes and especially grilled meats that are popular with tourists for lunch after a swim at the beaches of Afissos.
